If you are like me you also have to work on remembering what gear you are in. I think that one thing I like about riding is that it takes a little more effort and concentration on my part than does driving a car.
Why I find it a recreation is that it is a focus of my attention away from all the other stuff with which I am usually dealing.
I guess keeping the darn tank full is just another part of it. Then there is the keeping it clean part, and keeping the oil clean, and ...
